About CarProblemCheck.com
CarProblemCheck.com by Liberty Compliance, Inc. helps car owners and used-car buyers quickly see recalls, the most common owner-reported problems, and fixes ranked from easiest to hardest.
Our goal is simple: clear, trustworthy information so you can make better decisions about your vehicle.
Why we built it
When a car starts acting up, it’s hard to know whether it’s a common defect, whether a free recall repair exists, or what to try first. The answers are public, but they’re buried in federal databases few people know how to search. We turn that data into clear, plain-English answers for your specific vehicle.
Where our information comes from
Recalls and owner complaints come from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the federal agency responsible for vehicle safety. We group thousands of owner complaints into specific problems and count how many owners reported each one. Every vehicle page is reviewed by a person before it’s published. Learn more on our Methodology page.
What we are, and what we’re not
We are an independent information service. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by NHTSA or any vehicle manufacturer, and we are not a repair shop or law firm. Our content is general information, not legal or mechanical advice. For anything involving brakes, steering, air bags or other safety systems, we always recommend contacting a dealer or qualified mechanic.
How we keep the site free
CarProblemCheck.com is free to use. We earn money through advertising and some affiliate links. Neither ever changes our recall data, problem rankings or recommended fixes. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
